Managing Director of the Green Investment Group, Macquarie Asset Management
Brooks is a Managing Director of the Green Investment Group of Macquarie Asset Management Real Assets, with specific focus on infrastructure and growth equity investments in energy transition sectors such as mobility, clean grid, software, and infrastructure optimisation.
Brooks joined Macquarie in 2018 to formulate and deliver an accelerated sustainability strategy such as MAM’s asset management policies, public profile, and product portfolio, including MAM’s decision to become the first large asset manage to commit to managing its portfolio to global net zero by 2040.
Prior to joining Macquarie, Brooks served as Vice President and Head of Investment Funds for the US Development Finance Corporation where he served on the Executive Management Committee of the bank and on the bank’s Investment Committee. Brooks was the co-managing partner of the Virgin Green Fund Emerging Markets growth equity fund and a member of its Investment Committee, and a principal at Wolfensohn & Company, an emerging market growth equity fund. Prior to growth equity investing, Brooks had senior management roles at BP plc, including head of global business development and M&A for BP Solar and chief of staff to a Group Vice President in the Refining and Marketing part of the business. Brooks served as chief of staff to the Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment at USDA and managed forestry legislation at the United States Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.
Brooks serves on the board of directors of Inspiration Mobility Group and Idaho Base Camp, as well as the Advisory Committees of the Sun Valley Institute, Lok Capital and Vestd. He has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. from Dartmouth College
