Bill Johnston is the Co-Founder and President of Recover Brands, a North Carolina-based sustainable apparel company that uses 100% recycled materials. Recover is a mission-driven company that aims to create the best, most environmentally friendly and socially responsible products possible, and to educate and inspire those around us to live and work for a sustainable tomorrow. Since 2010, Recover has diverted 5.4 million plastic bottles from the landfill, saved 8.4 million lbs of CO2 emissions, saved 20.3 million KWH of energy, and saved 1.4 billion gallons of water and those numbers grow every day with Recover’s supply chain and business choices. Their Made in USA production takes products from materials to cut and sew to finished product all within a 250 mile radius of their headquarters in Charlotte, NC. Through Recover’s Clean Water, Protect Our Parks, Closed Loop, RAD (Recover Artist Development program), and other impact initiatives, the company continues to invest in positive impact beyond its supply chain. Recover Partners include PGA Tour, National Geographic, Aspen Skiing Company, and Teton Gravity Research. Prior to founding Recover in 2010, Bill worked in the outdoor industry guiding backpacking and mountaineering trips and continues to find inspiration and innovation through mountain bike rides, road rides, runs, and generally getting outside.
