Anake describes his career path as a “random walk”, incorporating disparate roles such as union delegate in the meat industry, nurseryman, indigenous rights treaty negotiator, and establishment board member of Aotearoa New Zealand’s EPA. He currently sits on the boards of listed 100% renewable energy gentailer Meridian Energy, donor advised fund The Gift Trust, and the Hillary Institute of International Leadership. Anake has an MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, is a Harkness Fellow, and is a Shambhala practitioner. A significant current focus is Seed The Change | He Kākano Hāpai; an incubator in support of people with very early stage ideas that are in service to a more sustainable, equitable and joyous future.
